God communicated through the major and minor prophets of the Old Testament in various ways. He would use them both non-verbally and verbally to express his mind, judgments, precepts, and verbiage to His people across the world. They were abstract, often secluded, discreet, but yet very powerful when it came to their ministry before both man and God. Especially to voice the mind of all creation to Israel. However, the contrast between men of the Old Covenant and of the New Covenant is not the same. Since Christ, and we are in a New Covenant, prophets are not one-men war and national terrorists against groups, nations, and peoples. God unveils the manifold wisdom of Christ (Eph 3:10) through the church and the body. As the older prophets of God were known for “hearing” God only. Their lives were not examined as much. In the New testament it is “come and see.” (John 1:46) Now both the lifestyle and word that is before both God and man are to the Glory of the most High God. Whereby l the more is grace apparent; but needed for a man to witness the awesomeness of Jesus Christ and God the Father to a dying world.
